Mahe & Thalassery (Train & Bus) Trip

Mahé is situated where the Mahé River joins the Arabian Sea. Though situated closer to Kannur town in the North and Kozhikode District in the South of Kerala, it is a Union territory, part of Puducherry. This place had some colonial fights in the 18th century between the British and the French and finally became a French territory in 1785. Even after India got independence from the British, Mahe remained a part of France until 1954. Some Keralites were fighting for the liberation of this small town from France after the independence of India. The present-day scenario is entirely different. It is still a union territory, under Pondicherry, in the heart of Kerala, filled with liquor shops. Fantastic developments. Motorcycle Ride: Bangalore to Thrissur

My intention is to have a motorcycle ride every month. It is one of my retirement plans. So, for me riding a motorcycle is more of a leisure than for everyday activity. All my life I worked, earned, saved, and waited for my retirement life to enjoy it, when I was healthy. I bought the motorcycle to have occasional pleasure trips, not as a survival strategy in the high rocketing petrol prices and never-ending toll plaza roads. Fortunately, toll plazas are free for motorcycles (except two in Bangalore to my knowledge); some toll roads don’t allow motorcycles. Hampi - The Stone Architectures

Hampi My desire to visit Hampi was realized in September 2023. I heard about the beautiful stone architectures and the marvels of the flourishing Vijayanagara Kingdom and desired to visit one day. The desire was finally realized. Hampi, a small town in Karnataka, 350 km north of Bangalore, is situated on the banks of the Tungabhadra River. It was the capital of the Vijayanagara Empire (1336 – 1672) in the Deccan Plateau. South Indian history talks a lot about the Vijayanagara Kingdom and their love for architecture. The kingdom that was centered on Hampi extended to present-day Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Goa, and Maharashtra. Now, Hampi is in ruins and remains a skeleton.
