2011 ----
My decision to buy a bike
started very recently and suddenly. In fact I was planning to buy a 100CC bike
for my daily commute to city for shopping and other errand purposes. While
surfing in the net I saw the classic Royal Enfield and was mesmerized.
The classic look of the
bike enkindled the passion in me to have a bike for pleasure trips with my
friends. It is mere passion that took control over me when I booked this bike.
The bike gives a wonderful
post world war II era vintage look equipped with some latest technology. The
Classic 350 produces 19.8bhp of peak power at 5250rpm and 24Nm of peak torque
at 4000rpm. According to various users, the Classic 350cc gives up to 45 kmpl
mileage in city area; of course one should not expect a mileage of Bajaj
Platina in this Royal Enfield bike worth more than 100 thousand rupees. It is
mere passion. Hope I will own one soon...
Booked the bike in the
month of September 2011 There is 6-8 months waiting period for this model. I
was informed at the time of booking that the bike will be ready in the month of
February. Nothing happened. I have some tight schedule in the months of
February - April, had no time to think about it.
I called in the month of
May and got a reply that the bike was ready and the company people called me
and my mobile of switched-off and therefore the bike was given to another
customer. He promised me to give the bike in the middle of June.
Now the days are closing, I
am slightly excited.
I have planned a trip to Kanthalore in
the Western Ghats for the initiation ceremony of the Bike.
